Ron and Jan Brunk
Ron & Jan started Glacier Cyclery & Fitness about 26 years ago and never looked back. Ron still wrenches in the shop when needed, and Jan tries her best to keep the unruly sales staff in line. Ron was once a potter and bakes a killer scone. Jan was once a beekeeper and plays a mean accordion (if that’s possible). Ron & Jan like to throw together little projects such, as, say, sending 160 or so refurbished bikes to Mozambique, and traveling there themselves to receive the bikes, give them away, and train the locals to repair them. Ron & Jan love God, each other, most of their staff, and long tandem rides on sunny days. Ron rides the front half of an Ibis Cousin It tandem, while Jan brings up the rear. The Brunks are accomplished bike tourists and have good tales from their various tours.
William “Lee” Stanley
Lee Stanley came to Glacier Cyclery & Fitness and the mountains of Montana in 2001, straight from the island of St. Thomas where he, his wife Cyndy, and their threatening dog Stogey had been floating on a boat for four years. They’ve since acquired another friendlier dog and more “friends” asking them to dog-sit. Lee has canoed the entire Mississippi river and was once a private investigator, just like Magnum P.I. Lee likes snowboarding, Ford Broncos, hard-rockin’ tunes, reading, guns, high-stakes, no limit poker and he’s the best non-practicing bartender that I know. Lee is currently down to two steeds: a Jamis Nova and a Kona Four Supreme.
About Us - Meet The Staff
Michael Meador
Mike came to Glacier Cyclery & Fitness in 1998 after working in various bike shops scattered around the American West. Mike likes to work on bikes with the exception of his own. Mike and his wife Tami have a young son, Owen, so presently a large portion of Mike’s rides include towing a Trail-A-Bike. Mike adores singletrack and sees no point in doing a 20-foot drop. Mike dislikes credit cards, telemarketers, telemarkers, teletubbies, and mimes. Mike’s quiver includes a Burley touring bike, a 1987 Fat Chance, a ‘69’ Sting Ray, a Jamis Dragon 29er, and a Santa Cruz Nomad and every one of them has a worn drive train.
Tyler Tourville
Tyler hails from Wisconsin and has been at Glacier Cyclery since 2001. Tyler is the founder and ‘El Presidente” of the Flathead Fat Tires, and was instrumental in the creation of the Whitefish Dirt Jump Park. Tyler likes DH bikes, 29ers, and shoveling snow which is fortunate as he lives up near Canada with his wife Brandy, son Tiptin, and various domesticated creatures. Tyler’s stable includes a Santa Cruz V-10, a Santa Cruz Blur 4X, a Jamis Nova, and a Kona Kula 29er which comes in handy on the long dirt commute from up near Canada.
Tim Killen
Tim came to Glacier Cyclery & Fitness by way of Missoula where he studied Recreation Management with half of the other students at University of Montana. Tim rides fast and is a well-rounded rider covering all disciplines, recumbents excluded, in any given week. Tim gets out a lot and is usually accompanied by his two dogs and his wife Meghan. Tim is a recovering river guide and a fine cook. Tim’s garage is packed with many steeds, including, but not limited to a Santa Cruz Nomad, a Black Cat custom 29er single-speed, a Kona Jake the Snake, a Kona HumuhumuNukunuku-Apua’a and the most recent addition, a VaMoots.
Travis Adams
Travis Adams, another member of the Adams family, is following in the tire tracks of his older brother Alex. Travis is a junior at Whitefish High School, an apprentice mechanic at Glacier Cyclery and an accomplished freestyle skier on The (it’s still Big) Mountain, executing flawless 720’s. Travis’s favorite place to ride is Spencer Mountain, practically out his back door, with his brother Alex. Travis rides a Santa Cruz Bullit and a Norco 125 3.0.
Clay Morrison
Clay comes to Glacier Cyclery from the southern climes of Missoula. It's been said that Clay goes big and it's been said that that is an understatement. Clay used to break rocks in a quarry, and for the first month he was here we didn't know he spoke. Clay likes dirt jumping, skiing, Toyota Landcruisers, PBR, and maiming Tim with sniper-like rubber band attacks. Clay lives with his wife Nancy, son Brody and their two dogs. Someday I would like to steal Clay's Ipod. So far, Clay's favorite ride is his Santa Cruz Blur 4X, and his quiver includes but is not limited to an Azonic Steelhead, a Kona Jake and the Hampton Pyro Cruiser he rides on his way to work.
Alex Adams
Alex Adams is a Whitefish native who’s been coming to Glacier Cyclery since he was but a wee lad. Alex is a summer employee who attends school in Bozeman in his spare time. Alex arranges his classes around his ski schedule and is a ripper whether it be on a bike, skis, or crocheting his own beanies. Alex is a man of action, a man of few words, a man on a mission to bring “the daffy” back to prominence in freestyle skiing. Alex pilots a Santa Cruz Nomad and ‘sends it’ on a daily basis.
Jill Lehr
Jillian is one of our summer employees and she spends the rest of the year studying elementary and special education at U of M Western in Dillon. Jill also works at a summer camp for kids with special needs and loves kids, especially well-behaved ones. Jill rides a Jamis Earth Cruiser and throws down on the Kalispell bike paths most every warm summer morning.
Justin Kuntz
Justin Kuntz, the newest mechanic wrenching at Glacier Cyclery, has been biking since he was three. Justin pulls a tail whip on his Vandal BMX smother than pudd’n, can rock Fernie on a hardtail and rides better than he walks perhaps from crushing his foot on a rail grind. Besides biking, Justin loves to spend time with his wife, Rylee and 10 month old son, Gaibryl. That’s right, spelled Gaibryl. Justin is a Jew4Jesus and can be identified driving a Honda with a vanity plate “Jewstin”. As well as a Vandal BMX, he rides a Kona Stuff. Justin is a great addition to Glacier Cyclery.
