We build comfort and safety into every bike we sell
Bikes come in different sizes, just like people, and just like buying clothing you want one that fits and feels great! Bikes are very adjustable. Once we find the right frame size for you then we can dial it in to fit your desired riding position. We can install a different saddle if you need a softer one. If you prefer to sit more upright, we’ll adjust the stem to accomplish that. Our aim is to make your new bike as comfortable to ride and as easy to pedal as possible!

Your new bike will be assembled by a pro bike technician
You might be surprised to learn that bicycles arrive at their destination in a cardboard cocoon, and the metamorphosis into a bicycle only occurs as they are assembled. It is the Glacier Cyclery technicians who caringly unpack, align, lube, torque, tension and make them into a Made In Montana machine. A significant difference between a bike from here and one from elsewhere is this thorough, conscientious assembly. We spend from one to two and a half hours, depending on the model, assembling and tuning every new bike we sell. This type of attention at the point of assembly sets Glacier Cyclery apart from the other shops. The last thing the bike techs do is take each assembly on a test ride to assure you a safe and well operating machine . . . which is the reason all of our new bikes have “dirty” tires!

We want you to test ride before you buy
How do you know which bike is the right one for you? The best way to judge is by taking it out for a spin, and we’re just two blocks from the BN Loop bike trail which is a safe and enjoyable place to test ride. As you roll along, shift through the gears. Feel how the bike fits your legs and arms. Try the brakes. Stand up, climb a hill. Coast down. Does the bike feel comfortable, easy to pedal, smooth? Is it quiet? Do you like the ride? Take mental notes as you ride; when you get back to the shop they’ll help us make any necessary adjustments for optimal comfort.

A terrific, knowledgeable staff
All of us have been riding bikes since we were kids, and while that doesn’t mean all of us are experts on every aspect of cycling, each of us represents expertise in some area or another and would love to share our knowledge with you. We’ll tell you about our favorite places to ride, help you work that pump, explain how to shift gears, fix a flat, make sure you know how your quick release levers operate. And any other questions, just ask, and we'll be more than happy to help.

After sales service with every new and used bike!
After purchasing a new bicycle from Glacier Cyclery you have 90 days of free service, and it’s more than lip service. If the shifting isn’t as precise as it first was, the brakes seem mushy, an annoying noise creeps in―anything other than flat tires or crash related damage―we want you to get it back in the shop and we’ll fix it— for free. We’ll take up cable tension, lube that chain, quiet the noise, adjust the shifting and essentially make it ride like new again. Every used bike that we sell has been thoroughly reconditioned before it is ready for resale and comes with a 30 day guarantee.

Glacier Cyclery’s community commitment
Each year Glacier Cyclery supports the Whitefish community with generous donations of products, services and money to local events, organizations, fund raisers and charities. We provide mechanical support during events like the Summer Solstice Triathlon. Prizes for the Big Mountain Tuesday Night Race League. Money and bikes to raffle to fund Fish Trails. Years of serving on boards of organizations like the Whitefish Pedestrian Bike Path Committee and the Resource Advisory Committee have resulted in such bike facilities as the many new bike paths through town and made Round Meadow X-C Ski Area into a wonderful summer mountain biking area for families. Our courtyard is used by groups like the Montana State Road Race Championships for awards ceremonies or as a place to meet your riding pals. We even have a US Cycling Race official on our staff. Every time you shop at Glacier Cyclery you indirectly support your own community, schools, neighborhood, yourself! And we appreciate your business! Thank you!
