Glacier Cyclery’s Nordic Shop is the biggest little cross country ski shop in Northwest Montana! Located right on the Glacier Nordic ski trails in Whitefish it offers the most convenient outlet for rentals or place to leave your skis for a tune-up and wax after you ski.

Glacier Cyclery’s Nordic Shop carries a wonderful selection of hats, gloves for all temperatures, a full range of waxes, poles to replace broken ones, water and energy bars and has a daily schedule of both classic and skate ski lessons and instruction.

RENTALS

Glacier Cyclery Nordic Shop rents only good quality, well maintained equipment. We can outfit a family from toddlers to grandparents with classic skis or skate skis and a child’s sled to easily pull that toddler in for use on the Nordic Center’s groomed trails.

If you desire to take an excursion into Glacier National Park or other backcountry location, our downtown store will rent you the perfect boots, poles and skis for touring those ungroomed roads and trails.

DEMOS

We have demo skis at Glacier Cyclery’s Nordic Shop of many of the skis that we sell in our downtown store and we recommend that you try before you buy. A distinct advantage of trying the skis we sell is that you can literally "demo out the door."

LESSONS

Glacier’s Nordic PSIA Certified instructors love to ski and love to teach others, too. With a lesson or two under your skis, you’ll quickly find that a little technique goes a long way to adding joy and pleasure to the exercise that cross country skiing provides. For any of these classes, please reserve your spot 24 hours in advance.

PRODUCTS

Trailside at the Nordic shop you can find the essentials needed to keep your body warm, fueled and hydrated and your equipment waxed and working. In the winter, Glacier Cyclery & Nordic’s downtown store is a full blown Nordic shop. Here’s a little about the equipment that we sell there.

Fischer - An Austrian company founded in 1924, Fischer has more World Cup race medals under their belt than any other ski. We carry skate, classic, and BC models as well as super-comfy boots by Fischer.

Atomic - Yet another Austrian company, Atomic was founded in 1955. From competitive athletes, to ski mountaineers, to the recreational cruiser, Atomic strives to enhance the performance of every cross-country skier. We carry skate, classic, and BC models as well as Atomic boots.

Salomon - Salomon originated in France in 1947 and considers themselves “a full Nordic equipment developer with outstanding technical products”. We carry recreational-type skis from Salomon. Chances are, if you’re new to the sport, we’ll steer you towards the well-made, well-priced skis by Salomon.

Swix - Swix originally started as a ski wax company in 1946. When the Swedes won every cross-country ski event at the 1948 Olympics on Swix waxes, the world took notice. These days Swix makes almost everything you need for cross-country skiing, with the exception of skis and boots. We carry Swix poles, wax, gloves and clothing.

Other Products

Wax - We offer waxes for gripping and gliding by Swix, Toko, and Fastwax. We also carry the rest of the tools you need to keep your skis uber-fast.

Clothing - Should you arrive at the Glacier Nordic Center to ski with only one glove or no hat on a blizzardy day, Glacier Cyclery’s Nordic Shop can fix you up. The Nordic shop sells hats & gloves that can save your day.

At Glacier Cyclery & Nordic’s downtown store we stock jackets, tights, gloves, and base layers from Pearl Izumi, Louis Garneau and Sporthill, companies that make product that work quite nicely for both skiing and cycling. But we also stock apparel from Nordic ski brands like Swix and Salomon specifically designed for cross country skiing. We carry undies, socks, tights, jackets, hats from XOB, Swix, Craft, Sauce and Buffs of every color and pattern and more, so stop in to see, feel and try on!

Skis a little slow? Drop them off for waxing. We do both classic and skate skis, basic to race ready. That includes your “waxless” touring skis. Prefer to do your own waxing? We have Swix, Toko and Fast Wax waxes, irons and scrapers, and quick roll on waxes as well.
